Complete Mastercam Uninstall (2021)

Description:
      Depending on the situation, a Mastercam Uninstall may be necessary to solve a technical issue.  However, using the Windows Uninstaller Tool alone leaves install data untouched for the next install which may result in the same errors. Below will guide you through a complete uninstall.

Only follow these instructions if instructed by one of our Applications Engineers to do so as there may be a simpler solution to your problem.

Step 1: Use the Windows Uninstaller tool
  1. Open Windows settings
  2. Click Apps (click to Enlarge Picture)

  3. Find Mastercam 2021 (or Mastercam for Solidworks 2021) and click "Remove"

  4. Continue through the prompts until uninstall is finished 
Step 2: Delete & Backup old files
  1. Delete the Mastercam 2021 Program Files Folder (located here: C:\Program Files)  (you will need admin privileges for this step)


  2. Backup then Delete Shared Mastercam 2021 (located here: C:\Users\Public\Documents)

  3. Backup then Delete My Mastercam 2021 (located here: C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Documents)

Step 3: Delete registry folders (you will need admin privileges for this step)
  1. Type "regedit" into Windows search

  2. Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER Mastercam 2021 folder (located here: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam 2021)

  3. Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Mastercam 2021 folder (located here: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam 2021)
    1. This may have already been removed by the windows uninstaller tool


Step 4: Reinstall Mastercam
  1. You can find the install HERE (password: shopware2021)
  2. Download and run the installer
  3. After the install is finished, test Mastercam. Is the issue fixed?
    1. Yes: Close Mastercam and you can begin to replace the My Mastercam 2021 and Shared Mastercam 2021 folders with your backup copies. If the issue returns after using your backup files, contact us and we can continue to narrow down the cause of the issue. 
    2. No: Contact us so we can verify the clean install and continue to troubleshoot.
